Knives cut, loosen, separate… the essentials from the rest. They are part of the culture and in their potential danger they always require respect when dealing with them.

The Salzburg knife forge is located just a few kilometers north-east of the city of Salzburg in Perwang am Grabensee. It is one of the best-equipped knife forges in Austria and is run jointly as OG by the two knife smiths Albert Anglberger and Andreas Fellner.

I forged my first knife 10 years ago when I was pregnant with my second child. I have now completed training as a knife maker in Thiers – the knife capital of France.
